Why not? You can buy a new tank when you buy the Vincent Black Shadow
with the money from your Mum's estate...

Show me where a new tank exists, and I'd buy it, no question. There
aren't any, unless someone's got one in an attic somewhere.

But thanks for being stupid.

Well yes; but how much *weight* did you save for gosh sakes?

Probably between 0.5 pounds and 1.5 pounds. I just like the idea of
having a 750SS that has all the high-end components from a 1000SS
(alloy swingarm, 5-spoke Marchesinis, Ohlins shock, 3-way adjustable
forks) along with upgraded brakes, exhaust, etc, but still looking
stock to any casual observer, and at the same time being noticeably
more fun to ride than a stock 750SS. The actual weight loss is a
result of many different, small, tweaks that all add up, rather than
any single change that I've made.

Absolutely! Of course you are a master tinkerer compared to most. <g>
