Still haven't got round to having a new hood on mine.
Only issue on mine (97 1.8) has been a rear brake caliper. It's
developed excesive travel on the handbrake again since then so might
need the other one doing at MoT time. Mobil1 and an OEM filter make
the htdraulic tappet noise on start up acceptably short (112000 on the
clock). Water pump was replaced when I had the belt done last year.

Advisory on the sillslast year, so may need them doing this time. If
it doesn't need much else it might even get a new hood. Meantime I
keep a car cap on when not in use, and most times I take it out the
hood is down anyway so it looks OK ;-)

Would be fun on the cols where I am now (Pyrenees).
I've given some bikes serious hassle on clear B road blitzes that I
know well, but ultimately they lack the grunt to make good progress in
heavy traffic.

Nige should go for it if it's mechanically and bodywork sound. I bet
the Mrs will find he drives it more than her.

But probably still not enough, I fear.
