It's actually for me, i have had hundreds of Land Rovers over the years
as second cars, i fancy something a bit different for a change.

I found the 1.8 engine horrible compared to the 1.6, might have been the
car, but i have driven a few & the 1.6 seems nicer. Turbo is the way i'm
going....

I've never driven a 1.6 so I don't know any better. Don't fancy a
turbo. I like the simplicity of the MX5. No ABS, power steering or
even electric windows on mine. I thought early 1.6s sometimes had
problems with the 'crank nose' ? - paging Timo.
