The 'big snow' fell on the 18th-19th.. at which time power went off. All generators instantly sold out. Four days later, Home Depot got a shipment, which I stood in line for one. I had not even gotten back out to the parking lot when my neighbor called to say power back on. I kept the generator anyway.. not going thru this again. My 1976 Suburban has a 40 gallon gas tank, so I'll just keep it full thru winter in case I need the generator. I keep a couple kerosene heaters as backup since our woodstove is useless without the fan. I won't say I'm completely ready for another round, but moreso than I was.
