Lindon Police Chief Cody Cullimore said a back-hoe or a crane likely was required to move the $100,000 sculpture depicting an old-time speed racer. Employees discovered it was missing from the Timpanogos Harley-Davidson store in Lindon, where it had been erected two years ago. Store manager Kandi Zamora said the granite block on which it was mounted also was missing. --- -- Click here every day to feed an animal that needs you today !!! www.theanimalrescuesite.com/ Paul ( pjm @ pobox . com ) - remove spaces to email me 'Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the restraints.' They should probably check local pawn shops.

If it was good art, they should check the homes/private gallerys of art collectors, as there are gangs of art theives who steal pre- selected -and very expensive- works of art on comission. Friend of mine had just hung her $20,000 painting of the Grand Canyon in a *very* upscale L.A. art gallery, and it went missing after being there only 24 hours. The place had incredible security -all of which had been very professionally bypassed- and nothing else had been touched. Tthe painting was covered by insurance, so my friend didn't lose a dime, but whoever commissioned the theft probably paid about half what they would have had they bought the painting from the gallery.

Was built with lots of the reclaimed steel, brick, etc from an old steel mill called the Cleveland Mill. Finally spotted a pic of that statue on their site in the gallery at http://www.timpanogosharleygallery.com/ -- Tom in Bristol FXB in days of yore BS#285
