Think CA emmisions certified. That was a major hurdle when we (yes I
was a part of that) set up th' initial Ural US distributorships.

I assumed that was a shot at the way to bike lit up, didn't look like you
could see a carb from the picture, but I don't know enough about Bendix to
say anything.

Kind of an old gray-beard thing. ;-)

Early 70's Harleys came with Bendix carbs. They were notorious for
catching fire, especially if equipped with one of the cheap "custom"
air cleaners that were popular at the time. I watched a couple of
Harleys burn to the ground around that time.

I though that might have been where you were going with the comment, but
seeing as I was conceived in early '69, I wasn't really paying much
attention at the time. <g>
