I used to chuck up Mikuni's to put a .125 x .06 (took about 45 seconds with
a parting tool) groove in the spigot so they wouldn't pop out from the
adaptor and hang off the end of the throttle cable.

We got the idea from one of our buds who put a 38 Mikuni on his panhead, it
backfired when he was kicking it (yep, magneto), tossed the carb off and lit
it on fire as the gas poured out of the fuel hose, and burned it to the
street on the Tahoe run.

It would have been OK, except the good Samaritan in the restaurant across
the street lugged out a huge fire extinguisher which he "lit off" from about
25 feet away, which was like hitting the flames with a blowtorch, it simply
carried lots more air to the fire, which was over his head.

Then, he ran over his right leg on a three wheeler at the campground and
hyperextended his knee.

And he wasn't even drunk yet.
