Your analogies are growing on me.

Well done, Centurion.

I'd be astonished if the LDs tried to *force* PR on the electorate. A
referendum is a gamble, one I'm sure they'd rather not take, but they're
called the Liberal Democrats, not the Dictatorial Autocrats. If it
happens, it'll be by democratic process.

Oh the naivety of yoof. I remember holding views like that and I also
thought that a razor blade was designed to last for 6 months. Time
passes and I grew up and a dozen or two general elections and brands of
gummint later I am not quite as convinced this is true as I once was.

No, they are fighting for a reserved seat on the gravy train. Something
they have not enjoyed for nearly a hundred years.

It is what they believe in and like them or loath them at least they are
having the balls to stick to their ideals. Mind you, I suppose that the
libdems whoring themselves around the halls of Westminster is an ideal
of sorts and gawd bless them for being consistent, it makes them a much
clearer target than they have been in generations.

Not if parliament is at war with itself. If you want strong stable
government you don't want PR.
