I was looking forward to seeing you again too.

Now you can't leave a message hanging with "we lost a half day buying
a new bike" without expanding on what the heck you bought. -;)

What did ya buy? For you? Your wife? Your son?

We want details.

My wife's EX250 was getting a little tired. Rather than chance having trouble
on the rest of the trip, I figured it made sense to take the opportunity
to FORCE her to upgrade to a more powerful bike, something I have been
trying to do for years. The EX500 isn't a whole lot bigger physically
than an EX250 and she has always seemed somewhat amenable to the idea but
pooh-poohed getting one since her 250 worked well for her. So we went
to Fay Myers Motorcycle World and bought a brand new leftover 2009 EX500.

Only problem now is what to do with an EX250 with new tires, chain and
sprockets that's sitting all lonely in Denver looking for a new owner.
And I have to decide whether or not to check the valves at the nominal
600 mile initial service, or just do an oil change and hope for the best.
Checking the valves does involve draining the coolant, I guess it's not
that big of a job.

Well congrats on the new bike!. Kind of a difficult way to break in a
new machine but I am sure it will work out.

We are begining the ride home in the morning. I am not sure what the
route will be. We kniw where we want to be in four or five days but
how we will get there will be minute by minute decisions.

Moab has been great. We did a dinner and boat ride up the Colorado
River last night which was very cool. Today we rented a Jeep and spent
most of the day driving around in the Canyons. The view is very
different from down there and some of those shelf roads are a little
challenging. It was good fun though. We got some great pictures.

Hopefully we can catch you on the next ride.

Cheers,

Don

We are heading home tomorrow Bryan but I am not sure of the route.
Annette is having difficulty with the wind. Our route and timing is
going to be driven by the weather. We might take 6 to 15 and then the
Provo Canyon road tomorrow. Do you know anything about the
construction on the Provo Canyon Road? I have been warned to expect
significant delays.

I have your number and if it looks like we will be able to meet you
I'll give you a call.

No reported construction in Provo Canyon. Weather should be warm,
light wind.

If you take Provo Canyon or I15 you are in my backyard. Give me a
call.
