The friction plates and whatnot were all replaced with stock stuff right
after I got the bike. Again, I should have done it myself, but oh well.

I should have said I plan on doing the clutch master and slave cylinders, as
well as SS lines, this winter.

How do you like the feel of the new pressure plate?

Really? I always use cod-liver oil...it's organic and safe for the
enviroment and other undead things.

It's great. Smooth linear, and when I take third and fourth to the rev
limiter and shift up the bike absolutely lurches forward. Money well
spent.

This happened to me once on the heel-toe shifter of the XS...

... I limped it in 4th gear to a Rocky's Hardware parking lot, bought a
couple of joints, a piece of threaded rod and a hacksaw, and made a
permanent replacement in about 20 minutes.
