I do have a few Halfords pro tools, but i'll use anything better in preference that's closer to hand. C/F this weekend, I tightened up the crankshaft bolt with my biggest breaker bar, but I couldn't get quite the right angle for the final push, so I had no qualms sticking my longest Snap-On 1/2" ratchet on the bolt for a final thrutch. I had my full body weight kicking on it. It's never going to let go. I wouldn't do that with a Halfords one, you'd put yourself in hospital .. Paul.

So pissing some money on something more specialised like the > bendy ratchet spanners would make far more sense imo. Pissing money on unnecessary tools is never wasted ;-) Paul.

Which is just as well or they'd go broke refunding/replacing the tools. They're "Ok", but they're not great tools. -- Beav VN 750 Zed 1000 OMF# 19 |
