He owns an ST1300 (7.1 gal?) back in the States. The standard GS tank
is smaller. OTOH, my GSA tank is huge at 8.3 gallons.

We're spending September in Canada, and plan to use a pre-paid card
from Travelex - which can be topped up online. It might pay you to do
the same thing in Euros.

No matter what I did, I couldn't put 18 liters in the tank. Some
Harley Sportsters have bigger tanks, fer cryin out loud. And this bike
is supposed to go around the world? I averaged <173 miles per tank
and never got as much as 200 miles on a tank. One of the mods I'm
considering is a swap to the Adventure tank, but the kit costs ~$1500
and it's a major job to do the change.

Pescara is awful. I had the worst pizza in my entire life in Pescara.

Brindisi has a lot of shoe shops, though as you of course know, it's
main point of existing is the ferry terminal.

You can, and I almost posted the same response to Thomas - I've got a
prepaid Euro Travelex card, which has a PIN and works with automated
fuel pumps in France.
