Have you considered a nice, low mileage, used, Super Glide Sport?
Upgraded brakes, instruments, and suspension compared to the standard
Super Glide.... a few pounds heavier than the Sportster 1200R, but
definitely worth considering. (Of course, I might be biased....)

If I really admitted it, probably for me too. Sure do like that bagger on
the long hauls though and with the modified suspension it almost feels like
a 600 lb bike instead of an 800 lb one.
