Yep, it's a pretty well proven 1.9 JTD as used in loads of Vauxhalls, Fiats,
Alfas, and probably will have 150bhp.
A pretty safe choice and while it's not as good as the VW engine it's not
bad at all.

When I worked for Park Lane the viscous fan couplings on those mid to late
80's beemers were a good money spinner....

At the other end of the spectrum BMW provided an alternative brake pad grade
"Abrasive", which could extend the life of tram lined disks for another
service interval. It was a great idea but AFAICT they are no longer
available.
