The last three services I've had a go on a KTM RC8, a Triumph 1050 (naked bike) and a Buell 1125. All had way more power than my KTM but I was happy to get back on my bike purely for the upright seating position and it's flickability in traffic. I also read a lot of bike magazines to keep an eye on whats new. I'm a consumer, through and through. :)
