I rode one in Vegas in 2008. Great all around bike but not particularly inspiring. Fraser

Thay can be. 400 racing is still alive an well in some places (despite most of the bikes now being 15 or so years old[1]). A 'well screwed together" FZR400 is as good as any of the other marques, and they had a rep as being one of the sweetest handling 400s. My mate Rob Price used to campaign one (actually, he has/had a pair of them) at the TT (back when the classes weren't all identikit 600s and 1000s), and got on the podium once. I think his best lap on one was 108mph. [1] Imagine what a 4-cyl 400 built with modern materials technology would be like nowadays 20,000 rpm redline? 85bhp? hubba hubba. -- Champ We declare that the splendour of the world has been enriched by a new beauty: the beauty of speed. All I know is it's F reg, & was used regularly by the owner (one of L's friends) until she got pregnant 8 years ago, & she hasn't touched it since. It'll be a few weeks before I get to see it. -- Krusty |
