It's a sentiment expressed by George Carlin - a response to the notion
that representatives are different from those they represent - he felt
differently - the notion is that representatives are an accurate
reflection of the Americans they represent, in the way they behave, how
they operate and in that their first priority seems to be to serve
themselves.

The "average" you use above is a bit skewed if "none" have expressed
support for the bill and if "All" distrust the federal government. How
many have actually read the bill and how do they obtain the information
to formulate their opinions - possibly in the same way many
representatives do?

'Twern't a local. This guy was an import from Tenn and was imported
there from Fla.

I live about 75 miles east of Wytheville. He was ultimately on his way
to this area but stopped there to take a break and guess he thought,
"what the heck...Wytheville is just as good as Roanoke".

....and you are correct. The locals DO pronounce it "Wiffle".
Yankees pronounce it "Withe-ville" (long "i" like the word "white").
