Not to worry; the first half was in the truck. Tomorrow's southern
half will be on the bike. It is supposed to be 27 degrees when we
leave in the morning, though.

One of the warmer parts of the USA; certainly not the warmest.

Late February.

Early to mid-March.

Strange. I've been to the Speedway for the racing in some 19 of the
past 23 years, both racing and spectating, for club racing, vintage
racing, AMA and ASRA pro racing, and I have never heard that sentiment
from other racers or spectators.

There are Harley and chopper riders partying in the infield at Daytona
EVERY SINGLE year.

Ingteresting claim. I guess the Hawg Heaven infield grandstand (open
to anyone, not just Harley owners or riders)that has been there every
year I've been there since 1987 is just a figment of my imagination.
Of course, no one is setting fire to Hondas in the Daytona infield,
but then, I've never heard or read of that ever happening prior to
your unsubstantiated claim.

Along with riders of every other brand and vintage.

Finally, a pointless and idiotic observation that also happens to be
true.

Not odd, just false.

LOL. My favorite Daytona bumper sticker is: "DOH! I rode my
motorcycle to Trailer Week!"

In truth, my personal observation over almost 20 years of attendance
is that the percentage of riders of hypersport bikes who trailer to
Bike Week is far higher than the percentage of Harley riders who do
so.

Yebbut if they are taking the hypersport thingies to use on the track
then fair do's. Unlike the hardlys that is where they are designed for.

Of course the racebikes are trailered. I was talking about the
streetbike poseurs.

> Unlike the hardlys that is where they are designed for.

The touring Harleys are often ridden thousands of miles to Bike Week.
The choppers and cruisers not as often, although I often see Springer
Softtails droning down I-95. There were many bikers riding south on
I-95 through North Carolina today, with snow lining both sides of the
interstate for about a hundred miles. I saw one sportbike, a Suzuki
Hayabusa, on the the northbound side of the interstate. Every bike
being ridden on I-95S that I saw today was a Harley, except for one
Ural sidecar rig (painted in military flat camoflage) and one Goldwing
rider.

My Harley was cozy in the back of my pickup truck, but will be on the
road tomorrow for the final 425 miles to Daytona.

My Ducatis are at home in the garage, but if I were taking one of them
to Daytona for Bike Week, you can believe I wouldn't waste it on the
boring, flat, straight, 851 mile drone to the International Speedway!
