I'm not a particular lover of it myself, but I ride and drive in Sweden from time to time and it's mandatory over there and it's amazing how far away a vehicle can be and you can still see it. Mind you, in Sweden I think the most "popular" accident is a head-on collision. -- Beav > > -- > TJH > > tjhiggin.at.hiwaay.dot.net

Yep those vests work really well at getting the cage monkeys to target fixate on you...and we all knows what happens when you target fixate.

What I like to do is bolt automobile headlights onto three foot long stalks sticking out from the sides of the front of my bike, like giant turn signals. At night I turn off my regular headlight, turn those on, and people in oncoming cars target fixate on my headlights, thinking it's a car that they can hit head-on. I always laugh maniacally when they target-fixate on me, cross the yellow line, and then I swerve at the last possible instant to foil them. Oh, the looks on their faces when they realize that they've been suckered by yet another clever motorcyclist, and that there will be no satisfyingly fatal head-on collision for them! (Of course. early on I learned the hard way to make the headlamp stalks with a weak spot for a quick breakaway of the light and the stalk when my swerviing is left a little late and I miss the onrushing car by less than three feet.) GREAT fun!
