They're not quite that big individually, but the original Freeway Blasters
were best installed in hi/lo-tone pairs, and the result is definitely going
to take up more space than the wimpy little "button" horn the original
manufacturer used. Still, I basically put my Fiamms right where the horn
was - I just used some metal brackets to tie the two new horns together
and give them a common mounting hole (which went where the single
original horn attached to a bracket on the frame. Biggest concern
there was that the horn goes just ahead of the radiator, and I was a
little worried about the larger pair of Fiamms blocking too much air.
But I've had 'em on for a couple of years now, and never had an
overheating problem. (And I believe you can now get what is basically
both the high and low-tone horns in a single, smaller package.)

You will, however, most likely need to run a separate (fused) power
line to the horns, and find a place to install a horn relay if your bike
doesn't have one (or if the original switch and/or relay can't handle
the load).

It's a horn and it's loud. And since it fits on my motorcycle, it is
now by definition a motorcycle horn. And like Pete says, the
cage drivers around you WILL hear it.

Just don't ever press the horn button with the bike "live" power-
wise and you kneeling down around the front wheel. Small
enclosed spaces, like a garage, are also not the place to be
trying out your new horn...

Sure you have time to do that - and do - but it's also satisfying to
make sure that the cage driver is aware of the situation.

Uh, no. Why in gawd's name would anyone take pics of a horn
installation?

Huh? The horn is circa 4" across the widest part of it's spiral and
is about 2" deep.

I suppose you *could* put it on a car, but it's sold by Rider
Warehouse ( http://www.aerostich.com/fiamm-freeway-blaster-horn-low-tone.html
) and so far as I know it's designed for bikes.

Only bad part is that you need a relay -also sold by rider warehouse-
to activate it as it really sucks up the power.

? What makes you think I didn't do both?

I didn't get to be 66 years old riding in LA freeway traffic by
neglecting the obvious survival tactics.

Right - so where on your bike is YOUR holster mounted? ;-)
