Heh!

Oops. Punt it out on ebay as spares or repair. Someone will buy it.

Define cheap. Last one I got set me back a whole £50! They do come up
occassionally but seem to be a bit thin on the ground atm.

£200 min if the seller knows what they are selling. I got mine for a lot
less than that :-)

Of course :-)

Keep using it as a paperweight for now....

Really? Blimey. I probably still have the box too. What's it worth as
spares/repair?

If you get a metal one for that, I'll take it - assuming good condition etc.

Well, if you see one and are feeling generous, give me first dibs?

I knew you'd understand.

Probably up to £30 assuming you can still manual focus it. Is it
whirring on AF but not moving?

I'll keep you in mind.

I already have one so if I do come accross another I'll shout you.

This is a newer plastic housed one, btw.

It tries to AF, but something inside has obviously moved out of place,
so it's catching, making the AF bounce, like it's hunting. You can feel
it when you manually focus - which works fine.

If I could figure out how to open it up, I would....
