I sold a new Z750 restricted to 33 bhp to an 18 year old lad a couple
of weeks ago, his insurance is 550 quid TPF+T. Not bad I thought for
his second bike and only just passing his test. Previously only ridden
an R125 Yamaha and within a couple of days he'd scrubbed the Z's tyres
right to the edges - we like this lad, he makes us smile at work.

I was working at 16, so it was pretty easy to afford a car when I was
17.

Thank god i'm fantastically intelligent to make up for my lack of A
levels ...

Tell me, how did you know how to parent before you had kids?

As a step-parent, I've realised what every parent with a bit of
self-awareness admits - we all make it up as we go along.

Grandparenting is interesting. As I remarked to an heir the other day,
"Just because you are carrying a quarter of my dna does not make you
immune to disassembly".

As usual, I struggle to make any sense from your posts.

Are you saying that your parents bought and insured your first vehicle
for you?
