Thanks for the info, Rob. I'll pass it on. She visited over
Thanksgiving for a few days, but that's about it. I suppose she
can always come back if she doesn't like it long term...

RR tried that back when he was governor of Ca - didn't work then & won't
work now. Them who don't know history are doomed to repeat it.

Well, I see only three more alternatives.

1. Convince the growers to sell their land and relocate to Chile or
Brazil to be close to their cheap labor source.

2. Pay Americans a living wage to pick fruit.

3. Genetically engineer smarter chimpanzees to pick the fruit, but
don't let labor organizers find out about the potential new union
brothers...

Idiot. As long as the crops grown in CA can also be grown overseas
and imported more cheaply, Americans will buy the cheaper imported
version and let California landowners, farmers, and laborers go to
hell.

It's the American way.

All of California was nice and conservative before the Mexican
Depression started in 1972 and all the wetbacks started heading north.

Compare these demographics, and also realize that Fresno has an
Armenian problem and a Hmong problem...
