It's not a modern 250.

What he said. The EX250 engine has been around since the late 80s, the
rest of it is very basic mechanicals wrapped up in modern looking
bodywork and produced cheaply in Thailand. Because of - or possibly in
spite of - this, it's a good seller.

And despite the fact that the engine was designed years ago, it's still
not a bad lump and does what it needs to? AFAIK none of the other 250s
on the market in the USA can touch it power-wise except perhaps the
Hyosung GT250.

Did the chassis get any upgrades in 2008 when Kawasaki went from 16"
to 17" wheels? The missus loves her '99 and has no plans to upgrade or
switch bikes despite generous offers from me of numerous alternatives.

I blame GC and IDR.

I committed a typo, see: Grimly picked it up and Ivan suggested
Senility In Retirement, so I'm wearing it for a while like a hair
shirt, in penance.

And riding in it, I hope.
