Relatively minor, and mostly healed by then, but here you go.

We went down at around 70 mph, so presumably would have been doing
somewhat less than that by the time the glove came off.

Doesn't look that bad for a degloving injury...

Personal choice, personal perception of the value of your life, variable
amount of thrill you get from riding bikes fast.

After almost dying and then almost losing my leg (4 bloody times) I still
ride bikes, and given the opportunity, too fast for my skill level (how else
will I improve and get a buzz?).

I hardly ever wear leather trews. Jacket normally unless its nice and hot.

The only slowing down I do if I'm wearing jeans / fleece is when the flapping
of the clothes gets too uncomfortable. Shorts / t-shirt, don't often get the
weather to do it but it does make me more self aware.

When I had my big incident a few years ago I was wearing shorts and
t-shirt. My back was lacerated but my legs were so untouched everyone
assumed I'd been wearing leathers.

YMMV, obv.

Keith's trying to talk him into riding one of the zero-emission bikes
next year but unless he wants to be single again I can't see him
doing it.

The old race engine was in his road bike til it blew up on the dyno.
Hence the rapid shipment of a replacement so he's not on foot for the
rest of the week.
