I'm glad to hear the good news. Something to keep in mind though Don, no
matter how glad all your friends are for you I bet your wife is the 'Gladys'
:o)..

Best regards,

You make a very good point.

I'm reminded, of course, of Watson and Crick and the elicitation of the
structure of DNA. Prior to that time people knew quite a bit about what
happens when you mate your green pig with your orange pig, i.e.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gregor_Mendel

Everyone knew there was a biochemical basis for heredity--just that nobody
knew what it was or how it worked at the low level, until Watson and Crick
did some good science.

But the bottom line is this--and this is the point you were making--you can
get amazingly far in pig mating without knowing anything about DNA.

Still, I think there are limits to how far you can go in cancer research by
trial and error. You need to have some understanding of what makes it past
cell membranes and what doesn't and why and what might be affected in a cell
by doing this and that. Without that knowledge, trying Drano against a
tumor might make sense. For all I know it does make sense.

Oops. I meant to say, "...so long as my immune system..." (I didn't
mean to infer it's because I have such a 'strong' one)

Heh. I immediately interpreted that as: "Keep riding bikes"

And then I read this para :-))
