Simple question, for your simple mind. Bolt the rearseats onto the rear
wheel spindle. That's about as far back as it gets.

Does that result in improved ground clearance for the pegs?

You need to mount the pegs *higher* if they're not to ground, not
further back. Although higher *and* further back is usually good.
