If you use the entire BMW drivetrain, you'd probably want the BMW rear wheel in order to get the brakes and bolt hole spacing right. You might also want the BMW front wheel for the extra braking. Like I said, the simplest conversion might be to just attach the Dnepr sidecar to the donor BMW. :-) Seriously though, I think I'd probably take the route others have already taken and set up the BMW engine driving a beefed up Dnepr gearbox through some kind of frankenclutch. Kind of reminds me of the Zundapp Panonia hybrid that I cobbled together as a teenager. The geometry came out kind of like a flat tracker, which I figured was way cool. Guaranteed to produce high sides on demand. Ran great for a few weeks before it exploded, possibly due to my engine mods, though I figure it was more likely the fault of the manufacturer.

Sidecars alone are going for the same price. What's to lose? Not much really, you could always strip and sell the bike side on e- sca...bay one piece at a time and the sidecar as a unit on craigslist. 8^)

I've been a V-4 Honda freak since wayback. Every street bike my wife and I own is a V-4 Honda. Yeah, with total of six in the stable it's not like we need another bike but a Magna with a sidecar isn't something you see every day. I saw a second generation a few years ago with a trike kit on it. First generation was 82-86 700, 750 and 1100, second was 87-88 700 and 750, third was 94 and up 750 only. Extra points if it's a first generation 1100 with a sidecar. Of course, me getting to your neck of the woods to pick up a project is like you getting here to pick up an engine for your project. There's 2700 miles of continent between here and there. -- Futility Man
