Try a polarising filter if you're shooting in bright sun - darkens the sky
to bring out more detail in the clouds etc., whilst retaining detail on the
land. They need a bit of practise to get used to, and have a few caveats
(like not using wide angle or you'll get uneven darkening in the sky), but
can be a big help.
