Ah, you're right. (I haven't been in the market for one for 15 years.
My '94 Dodge Ram only has 50,000 miles on it.)
Further research shows that Honda finally entered the market in '06,
and Volkswagen will build a pickup in '10, but it won't be coming to
the US. Still, I think it's a fair comparison to the argument that
American makers don't compete well overseas. The Ford F150 has been
America's best-selling vehicle for 20 years, and this year the top 3
are all pickups.

Mazda B series, Nissan Titan, Toyota Tundra and Tacoma, Nissan Titan and
Frontier, Honda Ridgeline, and that's just what Wikipedia knows, not
including Japanese-made trucks sold under US brands. And I wouldn't call a
single one of them a "truck". They sort of look like trucks, but if you
tried to load one like I load my pickup truck, you'd just break the frame
and pop the tires.

So that's my two cents - there isn't a single truck made by any non-US
manufacturer that would meet my needs as a pickup truck owner. I admit you
could probably adapt a commercial truck, but that costs extra and you'd
still have a commercial truck, not something made with passengers in mind.

Glad to see it BUT it is limited production and even used costs about twice
as much as a late 60s equivalent even in inflated dollars.

I'm driving a '94 I bought out of a junkyard last fall.
