Have you driven a Patriot? I took one for a test drive a couple of
months ago and felt it was a cut below the Cherokee and Grand Cherokee
for quality, road noise and comfort.

Of course, after I tossed the idea of buying another new(er) [1]
vehicle I ended up with a used Dakota, which is also a cut below its
competitors when it comes to quality, road noise and comfort.

Gas mileage is less of an issue for me. My last tank of gas (in the
truck) lasted me over five weeks. It would have lasted longer if I
didn't drive the truck to Red Deer last month. And the Dakota is a
fuel hog. Hard to believe if I want to drive four wheels for fuel
economy I need to take the Jag.

[1] I usually look for something less than a year old with 10,000 kms
or so on the clock.
