I wouldn't be laughing, I'd be crying all the way from the bank.
However, the g/f won't ride pillion and I want the 2WD for snow
(when riding in Canada).

In a toy hauler.

Keep in mind the HP to weight ratio. If you are considering a dual
purpose machine that could be as, or more important than raw HP.

I suffered through 30 +/- winters out there and rarely saw more than a
week of snow in any given winter. I saw lots of equally crappy cold
and wet weather though. The kind of weather that makes choosing a
vehicle with a heater and windshield wipers an easy decision.

I must be the exception.

Well depending on how much you two want to ride together, that might
be the deciding factor.

Good luck finding the right bike.

MSRP $13.5K in the states.

Hadn't checked the CDN/USD rate for a while and the
bike is a bit more than I would have expected, but seems
like there's still an odd difference of a couple $K.

Keep in mind the price I mentioned was "out the door" meaning
sales taxes included (provincial and federal).

I assume you mean Hinckley, not Meriden? Anyway, not this one.
Emphatically not this one. Horrible, antiseptic, odd steering, slow,
just *nasty*, but it does look great.

The V-Strom is nice. No experience of the others.
