What have Renault got to do with nuclear power stations?

If you wanted to rate technical ability to run a power station against
ability to build an up to date means of transport then I wouldn't look
any further than our cousins across the water and HD.

HA! At least we haven't any Lucas electrics...well excepting the
occasional vintage vehicle. 8^) To be fair their (french) reactors
seem safe and reliable compared to others...well they seem safe from a

Err, usually an unloaded fan will rev up and if it's a parallel-wound
motor (or permanent magnet type) will draw less current, not more.
Think of what a vacuum cleaner does when you plug the hose, or how a
Concept II rowing machine load control works.
