Trust me I am about as far away from being a yuppie as one can be.

I seldom worry about resale prices. I tend to drive my vehicles until
there is little left of them. I mentioned it in my earlier post in the
context of value, and I do think value is important.

If that's Calgary H-D I think I know why.
They ran into some problems trying to become a huge dealership.
Took on too much stock and got stuck with it when the market dried up.
I was talking to some other AB dealers who are universally pissed off
with them for discounting to below cost on several models which is a
fairly serious no-no. On top of that they are selling those bikes into
any dealer territory, also a no-no. (this was mainly from the dealer
in Fort Mac.)
I hear they are hurting. Itwouldn't surprise me if the tech has taken
a pay cut, hour cut or is left holding the bag after they laid off
other techs increasing his workload or some combination of all of the
above.

Yes it is. Kanes is fully stocked.

Without knowing what is going on behind the scenes, the showroom has
all the signs of a retail outlet in trouble and they were offering
some very good deals on new 09's a while back. I haven't compared
current prices for some time now.

Your assessment might be right on point.

I've been there. In the winter.

I think it's supposed to be "Live, Freeze, and Die."

Yabbut, the processing fee is just money in the dealer's pocket for
filling out forms.
Road tax goes to the gubmint.
