VFR1200? couple magazines over here panned the suspension (as did a
Ohlins tech) and the brakes from the descriptions I've read sound like
through backs to the early 80's. Linked brakes? Nice on a car not to
smart on a motorcycle imo.

Don't agree with that necessarily. Depends on the system. I loved the
basic system fitted to my Guzzis in the late 1980s.

I've used Honda's system on a Blackbird and not really noticed it.

Linked + ABS seems to cover all the bases.

Nothing damages a machine more than an ignoramus with a manual, a
can-do attitude and a set of cheap tools

They dropped the ball in my mind when they discontinued the Nighthawk,
the Magna and the Valk all within a couple of years. Since then their
line up has been bland at best.

I thought the Nighthawk and the Magna were bland. The Valk, not bland
at all.

I've ridden a Magna, it was ok. Owned a Nighthawk, I liked the look
but performance wise (handling, brakes, speed), my F4i is far better.
But, I regret selling the Nighthawk. No maintenance valves, nice
riding position, though the seat was a bit too soft.

I'd buy one again, it was a classic UJM, which unfortunately no one
really builds a UJM anymore.
