Not to my way of thinking. $1500 should buy you a larger engine with maybe a little left over to beef up the Dnepr gearbox that you join it to. I can't see a 600cc engine as a big improvement and I'm dubious about how well the entire BMW drivetrain will transplant. If I were going to transplant anything more than the engine, the first item on my list might be a front wheel with disk brake. I've been known to be wrong before though, so best of luck in any case.
