So would one be a compleate loon to actually consider searching out
one and buying it? Call me nutz but...I'll trust old school electronic

They're good, so yes, but most ones will be a bit tired by now. The LS
version was styled by Hans Muth, who did the original Katana, and
barring the odd nose cone, it's no different. It's just a cosmetic job.
