Mine came with cruise factory installed ... and it's carbed . I don't
think the servo cares which it's pullin' on .One of these days I'll actually
go thru the test procedures and figger out why it doesn't work . Probably a
dirty connection , the PO had it (and a buncha other stuff) disconnected .

The dealer stated it iwould work if the carb had a clip attachment on the
side. This is where the servo cable connects. He further stated that some
Harley carbs (the Harley carbs are the only ones that will work) of the same
year do not have the clip. He checked and mine does. The biggest problem I
have encountered is that Harley does not make a kit for bikes older that
2002 or so I'm told. The dealer parts department parted this out. It
supposdly includes everything ing include the fairing switch, right lower
switch housing, etc.

Thanks Chilly. From what I am reading from you and other folks at RMH, it's
doable somewhere between the stated parameters. Even though I cannot get a
"kit" as you did, the dealer guaranteed (never liked that word from a
dealer!) the parts he is providing is all that is needed and the quoted
price of the kits is $516 vs. $548 for the collection of parts. So, being
charitable and cautious (Jimmy Buffet's words) I am going to approach this
task now with an eye of optimism. Thanks again and have another on me.

I will track the installation and provide a report when complete. Other
than changing the short rear brake pedal, this will be the first attempt at
working on the Harley.
