400d has
9 point autofocus vs 7 point.
10 raw frame vs 3 raw frame continuous shooting so 1000d is far worse
4 level noise reduction vs 1
And the winnder for me is the 400d takes "grown up" CF cards, vs toy
SD ones, so is worth keeping as a second camera body alongside a 50d
when i eventually upgrade...

Do you actually get 10 raws? I know both the 1000D and 500D aren't that
good.

using decent CF cards (sandisk or lexar 133x) I reckon it's more like
7-8 before a slight pause then the whole thing drops to about 1.5 FPS
for a few more shots, then gets stuck for a moment. Usable though.
