Agreed, I have a Canon 350D bought as a complete kit off ebay for about 270 quid well over a year ago. Came with the standard 70-300mm lens and a longer Sigma. I bought a cheapy bag to carry it all around in and it's been great. I don't understand how half of it works, but I don't need to, the point and shoot function is usually enough for me[1] and the quality increase over my i5 is massive, the price difference virtually zero. Just buy one and play, if you don't like it, stick it back on ebay. Only caveat is to watch out for obviously nicked ones - "Canon 400D, great condition, no charger, manual in Japanese, location London" [1] Well ok, I figured out the timer and the portrait functions -- Mike Buckley RD350LC2 XJ900S

TBH I'd be more tempted to buy used from friends or EBay, you can get bargains in camera bodies and lenses now as people upgrade. -- frag |
