Not in the picture but I'm near 100% sure that the 1000D comes with an IS lens as standard. > TBH I'd be more tempted to buy used from friends or EBay, you can get > bargains in camera bodies and lenses now as people upgrade. Ebay is a minefield for digital cameras but there are some fantastic bargains to be had.

Indeed. I'd be quite surprised if they even made a non IS 18-55 as well as an IS 18-55mm. > >> TBH I'd be more tempted to buy used from friends or EBay, you can get >> bargains in camera bodies and lenses now as people upgrade. > > Ebay is a minefield for digital cameras but there are some fantastic bargains > to be had. It's not very good. Ding. Having a look round at the price of the EOS1000D package, a lot of places are selling them cheaper than jessops, *but* they're bundling it with the non IS lense which is a bit of a poor show. If you're gonna get a half decent body, get decent glass to go with it. -- frag
