Not in the picture but I'm near 100% sure that the 1000D comes with an IS lens
as standard.

Ebay is a minefield for digital cameras but there are some fantastic bargains
to be had.

Indeed. I'd be quite surprised if they even made a non IS 18-55 as well
as an IS 18-55mm.

Having a look round at the price of the EOS1000D package, a lot of
places are selling them cheaper than jessops, *but* they're bundling it
with the non IS lense which is a bit of a poor show.

If you're gonna get a half decent body, get decent glass to go with it.

"Glass" in that context refers to the lens unit as a whole, not just the
clear stuff at each end.
